Get There Scholarship 2024

Get There is a non-profit organization that was founded to provide students with financial assistance so they can attend the college or university of their choice. Get There is funded by donations from individuals and corporations who are passionate about providing educational opportunities for high achieving students. This scholarship is targeted at students who demonstrate financial need and as a result will require applicants to provide information about their household income. This year, Get There will award $2,500 scholarships.


Scholarship Eligibility criteria

  • Arizona high school graduate or on track to graduate by May 2024

  • High school GPA 3.0 or better

  • Are not currently enrolled in college in the upcoming academic year (except in a high school pre-college or dual enrollment program); 

  • Intend to enroll full-time in an associate’s or bachelor’s degree program in Fall 2024

  • Came to the United States prior to 16th birthday

  • Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) eligible OR have applied for or received DACA or Temporary Protected Status (TPS) approval or are an Undocumented student; and

  • Have significant unmet financial need

Renewal criteria

  • Maintain a college GPA of 3.0 and provide an unofficial transcript to Get There annually

  • Continuous full-time enrollment (complete at least 12 credit hours per semester)

  • Can be renewed up to three times (in support of four consecutive years of college attendance)

Application Process

Application Deadline:  April 1, 2024

Candidate Interviews:  Week of April 22, 2024

Application information required 

  • Completed application form

  • High School transcript

  • Letters of recommendation  

    • Provide two letters of recommendation from people who know you well and has served in one of the following roles for you: teacher, mentor, coach, religious leader, community leader or employer. This individual must be at least 21 years of age and must not be related to you. One of these letters should be academic related and the other non-academic

  • Financial

    • Annual household income

    • Number in the household supported by this income

    • Number of dependents supported by this income who will attend college in 2024

  • Essay responses


Your essay responses are an important part of your scholarship application. Please answer both of the following the essay prompts:

  1. Your educational and career goals – 750 words maximum

    • Describe your educational goals

    • What or who inspired you or helped shape these goals?

    • What do you expect to be the most significant challenges to completing college (excluding financial needs)?

  2. Overcoming adversity – 750 words maximum

    • Describe a challenging family or personal circumstance that has affected your achievement in school, work or your community.

    • How did you overcome this challenge and what did you learn from the experience?


Notification timing

Notification of award will be made by May 1, 2024

Award acceptance

You must notify Get There in writing of your intent to accept or decline the scholarship by May 15, 2024.
