Battle of Instate Tuition- Advocacy & Leadership Training

Aliento is launching an awareness campaign to ensure all Arizona High School students have access to in-state tuition. Come to this training to learn how Aliento students and others will ensure that all Arizona High School Students, regardless of immigration status are able to pay in-state tuition in our home state of Arizona!

REGISTER HERE: http://www.alientoaz.org/battle4instate

Are you a DACA recipient? Do you have TPS? Are you undocumented? Migrant? Immigrant? Are you an ally? If the answer is YES to any of these questions and want to get involved, but don’t know where to start come JOIN US to TAKE ACTION!

The Arizona Supreme Court decided that DACA recipients were not eligible for in-state tuition based on Proposition 300, 1996 IIRIRA & PRWORA. For decades undocumented youth have had to overcome several obstacles in order to pursue their educational goals.

Today DACA & undocumented students have to pay $327 per credit hour at the community college level at Maricopa Community Colleges. DACA students have to pay 150% tuition cost at one of our three public universities. That is over $5,000 more, which makes post secondary education inaccessible.

For decades we have seen how our immigrant community has been under attack. We know it's time for us to fight back! It's time ensure all students have access to achieve their higher educational dreams!

Now more than ever we need to continue to develop our skills to protect undocumented & DACA students! Join us on Saturday to build community, learn from one another, and take action!

This training is intended for those who want to expand their leadership skill and join our Aliento campaign team! Let’s do this!!!!

PLUS there will be continental breakfast, lunch, and snacks!
