Reyna Montoya selected as 2020 Flinn-Brown Fellow by Arizona Center for Civic Leadership

Our Founder + CEO, Reyna Montoya, was selected by the Arizona Center for Civic Leadership as 2020 Flinn-Brown Fellow!

She was selected as 1 out of 31 individuals from Arizona who represent the private and public sectors in a variety of fields—business and industry, government, nonprofits, arts, and education—and hold a diversity of perspectives, experience, and policy interest.

Growing up undocumented I would have never fathom that I would be considered a civic leader. My mom and dad always taught me the important value of "paying it forward" by poniendo nuestro granito de arena. My promise to the undocumented and mixed status family community is that I will continue to put my granito de arena and paying forward for the new generations to come!

It is with deep honor and humility that I get to explore civic leadership with these amazing and incredible cohort of leaders who are making Arizona a better place.

I can't wait to learn, listen, and share about the beautiful mission of Aliento and bring the spirit of my team, our undocumented/DACA youth and mixed status families Together we will continue to transform trauma into hope and action!

Reyna will be representing Aliento's mission of transforming trauma into hope + action! Let’s congratulate her!
