Location: Phoenix, AZ

Description

Collaborates with the Education For All project team to help plan and facilitate presentations and workshops supporting undocumented students on their journey through higher education. Intern must be comfortable with public speaking and overall external communication. Intern must be willing to participate in external events. Intern may be asked to interact with Spanish-speaking population, so some Spanish proficiency is preferred. Intern must have an interest in learning and sharing about different resources that are available to undocumented youth who are planning to continue studying in Arizona.

Scope of Work

  • Goal:

    • Intern will support our team by sharing information and advocating for students regarding in-state tuition eligibility, financial resources and overall support for undocumented students.

  • Responsibilities: 

    • Intern will work directly with initiative coordinator and assist during presentations/workshops/other external events such as tabling, etc. 

    • Intern will manage logistics for events such as physical materials, tabling materials, post-event reflections 

    • Intern will gather feedback or critical information from post-event reflections to share outstanding observations with the team 

    • Intern will reach out to students who are interested in learning more about Aliento or higher education accessibility

  • Eligibility:

    • Must have reliable transportation 

    • Have 2-3 days available out of the week (may include Saturdays)
