Education Day 2023 was a success!

Education Day 2023 was a success! Close to 200 students from schools all over the valley charted an exciting new path for Aliento and the state of Arizona. The voices of our students were definitely heard in the entire legislature and the Governor's office! 

During Education Day, our students met with Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs! Students spoke to Gov. Hobbs about important issues such as driver’s licenses, repealing english-only, mental health initiatives, and occupational licenses. Our students also thanked her commitment in supporting Dreamers with the Arizona Promise for Dreamers program, which would allocate $40 million in financial aid for Dreamers if the proposal is passed and included in the budget.

Gov. Hobbs assured us that this issue is high on her priorities however she mentioned that it will be a challenging path. 

Let’s ensure that our legislature works towards including this proposal in the state budget!
